CHICAGO – Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham has shown enough progress with the sore tendon in his left wrist that he could be available during the upcoming series against the Kansas City Royals.

Beckham hasn’t played since Sunday because of the sore wrist. It is near the same area where he fractured a bone in his hand in April and missed nearly two months.

“Gordon took some ground balls,” manager Robin Ventura said before Thursday's game. “He has progressed where you can kind of see him playing in the next couple of days.”

In limited time this season, Beckham has posted a .325 batting average, a mark that would rank second in the American League if he had the qualifying plate appearances.
