They affectionately call themselves Redneck Row and they are back for another season in the White Sox clubhouse.

It’s a line of lockers that stretches from Mark Buehrle to Matt Thornton, with guys like John Danks and Jake Peavy in between. And while one member of the group has moved on in Scott Linebrink, Adam Dunn has taken his place.

Never mind that Omar Vizquel’s locker sits directly in the middle of that group. A little diversity can’t hurt.

Redneck Row is certainly buzzing this week since NASCAR has brought its traveling road show to the Arizona desert. The two groups are scheduled to hook up Saturday for a little action on the baseball field, before ending the day at Phoenix International Raceway.

The drivers for Michael Waltrip’s racing team will be in White Sox camp Saturday morning to see what they can do once they step outside of a car. Waltrip is scheduled to be on hand along with David Reutimann, Matrin Truex Jr. and Ryan Truex. The four are expected to take some cuts in the batting cage and field ground balls.

Later Saturday afternoon, a group of White Sox players that includes Buehrle, Dunn, Gordon Beckham, A.J. Pierzynski, Danks and Peavy will attend the Nationwide Series race, the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200.
