CLEVELAND – So much for media in a new age.

With reporters set to blog, Facebook and tweet their musings from Friday’s season opener at Cleveland, the press box wireless system was completely taxed.

Add to that issues with sending and receiving calls and information via cell phones, any kind of outside correspondence became an issue.

Did LeBron James take his cell phone tower with him to South Beach?

With a much smaller contingent expected for Saturday’s game, both in the stands and in the press box, internet connections are expected to return to normal.

It was just as well for the Indians, who might not have been able to stop fans from mocking them from home, but were able to keep the local media from piling on. Indians starter Fausto Carmona gave up 10 runs on 11 hits in three innings.
