MINNEAPOLIS – The White Sox’s postponed game against the Twins on Tuesday won’t do much to alter the rotation.

Gavin Floyd, who was scheduled to pitch Tuesday will now be moved to Wednesday’s game against the Twins, who will also push each of their starters back one day. Floyd will again be scheduled to face Carl Pavano.

Fast-working Mark Buehrle will now pitch in Thursday’s afternoon getaway game against the Twins’ Nick Blackburn.

Edwin Jackson will no longer pitch in the Twins series. He will now go in the opener of a three-game series at Arizona on Friday where he will be matched up against the pitcher he was traded for last July, Daniel Hudson.

No makeup date was announced for the game, although it was decided that it will not be made up during the current series. It is the first time the White Sox have been rained out in Minneapolis in at least in the last 29 years.

“You know what is funny? Where’s the Metrodome when we need it?” manager Ozzie Guillen said after his team was rained out for the first time this season. “I think we’ve been lucky with the weather. We have been playing in very bad weather. In the meanwhile, we are the lucky one because a lot of teams have a lot of rain delays and a lot of cancellations.”

The White Sox make two more trips back to Minneapolis: Aug. 5-7 and Sept. 5-7. A likely reschedule date for what figures to be a day-night doubleheader is Saturday, Aug. 6.

The rain appeared to benefit the Twins, who were going to be playing without Joe Mauer, Denard Span, Jason Kubel, Justin Morneau, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Glen Perkins, Jim Thome, Joe Nathan and Kevin Slowey. All of them could potentially to be back by the time Tuesday’s game is made up in August.
