A quick look at the Chicago White Sox's 8-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday at Chase Field.

How it happened: Phil Humber improved to 7-3 this season, going 7 2/3 innings and allowing just two runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out five. Paul Konerko and Alex Rios both hit solo homers in the seventh before the Sox put the game away with five runs in the eighth, highlighted by A.J. Pierzynski's three-run double. Alexei Ramirez had two RBI groundouts. The Diamondbacks managed just two late runs in the eighth.

What it means:You have to wonder if the Diamondbacks wish they’d seriously pursued Konerko in the offseason. Konerko, an Arizona native, hit his third home run of the series on Sunday. Manager Ozzie Guillen’s decision to leave a red-hot Konerko in the lineup and try Adam Dunn in right field turned out to be a good one, although Dunn went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Beyond the box score: The White Sox got their first-ever series victory over Arizona and have won 15 of their last 18 interleague games.

Up next: The White Sox return home to U.S. Cellular Field to start a crosstown series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday. The Sox will send right-hander Gavin Floyd (6-6, 3.94 ERA) to the mound against Cubs right-hander Carlos Zambrano (5-4, 4.59) in a 7:10 start.
