The White Sox haven’t found room on their big-league roster for Dayan Viciedo, but the productive minor leaguer is going to Arizona for All-Star week anyway.

Viciedo was named to the World Team for the July 10 Futures Game at Chase Field, along with another White Sox prospect in right-hander Gregory Infante.

Viciedo, a Cuba native, is batting .324 in 70 games at Triple-A Charlotte with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs.

Converted to a right fielder this spring, Viciedo has been blocked from joining the White Sox because they only will promote him if he has a place to play every day. Carlos Quentin is in right field for the White Sox and the club has not given up on veterans Juan Pierre or Adam Dunn.

Infante, who was impressive during spring training, has a 3.06 ERA in 13 relief appearances (17 2/3 innings). He hails from Venezuela.

The World Team will take on a club made up of U.S. born prospects, pitting the two squads against each other for the 13th time. The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. EST.
