  • With his 3-for-4 day on Saturday, Paul Konerko extended his hitting streak at Wrigley Field to 17 games, dating back to July 2, 2004. Konerko is batting .364 with 3 homers and 12 RBIs in that span.

  • Also on the Konerko front: He has reached base in 27 staright interleague games and, overall in his career, he is a .304 hitter against the Cubs with 14 homers and 43 RBIs.

  • Juan Pierre stole his 25th base of the season and took over the major-league lead in that category.

  • Mark Buehrle’s seven strikeout Saturday were the most that he has fanned since striking out seven Angels on Sept. 5, 2008.
