KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- With just 11 days remaining in the Chicago White Sox's season, expect Mark Buehrle and Dylan Axelrod to get two more starts.

Buehrle has struggled mightily over his last three outings, giving up a combined 20 earned runs, but he is just 7 2/3 innings from reaching the 200-inning mark for the 11th consecutive season.

In addition to those 7 2/3 innings, Buehrle also needs one more start for 30 on the season which will allow him to reach double-digits in victories with 30 starts and 200 innings for the 11th consecutive season. He is the only pitcher in baseball on a streak that long.

“He deserved and earned it,” manager Ozzie Guillen said. “He can ask me anything he wants. He will get it.”

Axelrod was impressive in a start at home earlier this week, giving up a run over six innings. He will start the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Cleveland and is expected to get another start during the final homestand.

“He had a pretty good game and what do we have to lose?” Guillen said. said. “Give the kid the opportunity to perform.”
