White Sox bench coach Joey Cora figures to be handling a growing number of ticket requests over the All-Star break.

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with the White Sox’s incredible turnaround over the past 30 games, when they vaulted from nearly 10 games off the lead in the American League Central to owners of first place at the end of the first half.

Cora is a Miami-area resident in the offseason and the proud owner of a 25-game season-ticket plan for the Miami Heat. Cora has owned the tickets for years, even taking manager Ozzie Guillen on occasion.

Guillen better hurry up and tell Cora what games he wants to attend for the 2010-11 NBA season. With LeBron James and Chris Bosh joining Dwyane Wade in South Florida, Cora suddenly has a whole bunch of people on his voicemail.

He said he already has received calls from friends and family in Puerto Rico who want to attend games.

It might be easier for Cora’s acquaintances to get their hands on his vacant apartment in the area. (He recently moved to a bigger residence.) He would offer the place to James himself, but Cora knows the size wouldn’t fit the NBA superstar’s needs.

“It could be rented at least to a member of [James’] posse,” Cora said.
