“ We will go with Danks tomorrow,” said manager Robin Ventura. “We want to keep everybody in there same slot. You hate to do it because you want him to pitch and get out there and start the season, but sometimes you have to sacrifice the one for the other four.”
Bad conditions also are in the forecast for Wednesday’s game, which could complicate matters further. The plan is for Humber to be used as a long man over the next three games before his start against the Orioles on April 16.
“I know it’s not going to affect me,” Humber said. “I’m not worried about it, I had times between starts off last year. John will do a great job for us.”
Ventura will wait until the morning to set a lineup for Wednesday’s game. Kosuke Fukudome will get his first start as a member of the White Sox, according to the skipper.
•Most of the players and staff watched the Ozzie Guillen press conference on Tuesday morning.
“It was a tough day for him “ Ventura said. “He looked sincere and meant (his apology). It is one of those things he has to get through. He is a friend, so it wasn’t so easy to watch.”
Ventura and Guillen were teammates on the Sox from 1989 through 1997.
