Former Chicago White Sox pitcher and current batting practice coordinator Kevin Hickey is in Parkland Hospital in Arlington, Texas after being found unresponsive by hotel personnel on April 5 in his room.

Hickey’s vital signs are fine, but he is still in a coma, according to a source familiar with the situation. Hickey is an insulin dependent diabetic.

Hickey, who was a member of the White Sox’s 1983 AL West Division title team, has worked for the club in pre-game drills for the past 10 years.
