Here's a quick look at the White Sox's loss in Oakland on Tuesday night.

How it happened: The White Sox managed just three hits off Oakland lefty Tommy Milone, who stymied Chicago for eight innings. Gavin Floyd gave up two hits and two walks in 7 1/3 innings, but a seventh inning walk to Daric Barton turned into the game-winning run. Kurt Suzuki doubled Barton home off Matt Thornton who came in to relieve Floyd. Oakland added an insurance run – the first earned run Thornton has surrendered all year – later in the eighth inning.

What it means: The White Sox’s winning streak stopped at four games. Chicago’s struggles with left-handed starters continued; the White Sox made Millone look unhittable for much of Tuesday’s contest. Floyd’s quality start makes it three in four games for Chicago’s starter.

Outside the box: Philip Humber’s magical week continued on Tuesday. Fresh off the 21st perfect game in big league history, the White Sox hurler left the team to be with his wife as she prepares to give birth to the couple’s child.

Up next: Chris Sale (2-1) takes on Oakland rookie Jarrod Parker on Tuesday afternoon.
