White Sox pick Danish in 2nd round

By Doug Padilla

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox drafted high school right-hander Tyler Danish with their second-round pick Wednesday in Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft.

Danish, who compliments a 94 mph fastball with a slider, changeup and curve, was dominating for Durant High School in Plant City, Fla. He didn’t allow a run this season in 94 innings and finished 15-1. The loss was a 1-0 defeat on an unearned run.

His three-quarter delivery has been compared to Pat Neshek, with the possibility that he be turned into a reliever by the time he reaches the major leagues.

Danish has signed a letter-of-intent with the University of Florida.
