White Sox hold off on Teahen roster move
By Doug Padilla
CHICAGO -- Mark Teahen was available to pinch hit Monday, meaning the Chicago White Sox will wait at least until after the game, and possibly Tuesday, before making any roster moves.
The White Sox were expected to decide Monday if Teahen (mild oblique strain) would have to go on the disabled list. No move was made pre-game, but that doesn’t mean it is completely out of the question.
“We might have to wait until [Tuesday] to see what’s happening,” Guillen said. “I asked him if he’s available to pinch-hit and he said he can. We have to see how he feels [Tuesday] to see if he can play every day.”
Dayan Viciedo's numbers at Triple-A Charlotte have been shouting out for a promotion. The Cuba native is no longer playing third base, but he could get some playing time with the White Six by giving Carlos Quentin a day off and by getting a day or two at DH if Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko got a break.
Viciedo entered play Monday batting .315. Over his last 11 games he is batting .444 (20-for-45) with six doubles, two home runs, 16 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
