CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have made a number of under-the-radar moves this week in hope of catching one more good run out of a trio of former major leaguers.

Right-hander Henry Rodriguez, who has played with four teams, including the Miami Marlins earlier this season, was the latest addition, signing a minor league contract Friday. Rodriguez is hurt at the moment, so he will be placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Charlotte.

Rodriguez, 27, has made 150 career appearances with the A’s, Nationals, Cubs and Marlins, posting a 4.31 ERA with 11 saves and 151 strikeouts.

That move came a day after the White Sox acquired outfielder Matt Tuiasosopo from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations. The 28-year-old is a career .207 hitter with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs in 152 games with the Mariners and Tigers. He reported to Triple-A Charlotte.

Earlier this week, the White Sox acquired right-hander Shawn Hill from the Blue Jays. The veteran has pitched in parts of seven major league seasons, making 45 appearances, 44 of them starts. Hill was pitching at Double-A in the Blue Jays organization but was also sent to Triple-A Charlotte after the White Sox acquired him.
