Andrew Weber/US PresswireAdam Burish is expected to return to the Blackhawks' lineup on Wednesday.Though activated from injured reserve on Saturday, the Hawks indicated that Wednesday would be his return date.
After targeting the Detroit Red Wings game as his return date, coach Joel Quenneville thinks Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings will most likely be his first action of the season after a five-month recovery from knee surgery. Burish hurt his knee in the preseason and has yet to see action this season.
“We likely will have the same lineup as last [Friday] night going into tomorrow’s [Sunday’s] game,” Quenneville said after Saturday’s practice.
“He’s skating great and we like the way he’s worked. He’s been diligent through this process and he’s put himself, it looks like, in game shape and we’re targeting Wednesday.”
Burish was unavailable to the media on Saturday.
Cristobal Huet will start in goal against the Red Wings.
