2nd-period wrap: Hawks 5, Jackets 3

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3 after two periods at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday.

A wild second period saw the Hawks score three times and the Jackets twice, but it was Jonathan Toews who stole the show. The Hawks captain had a goal and two assists in the second, highlighted by a steal and shorthanded tally with under a minute to play. It could be the dagger.

The Blue Jackets took a brief lead when they scored two goals in the span of 0:42 early in the period. Joel Quenneville used his timeout at that point and his players responded.

The Hawks scored the next three goals as Viktor Stalberg and Patrick Kane tallied before Toews fantastic finish.

Duncan Keith has a 5-on-3 goal, his first on the power play this season, while Nick Leddy has the other Hawks score.

Marty Turco has looked ordinary in goal but, at the same time, has made some big saves after defensive letdowns.
