Second-period wrap: Hawks 1, Flames 1

CALGARY, Alberta -- The Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames are tied 1-1 after two periods at the Saddledome on Monday.

Patrick Kane tied the game for the Hawks on an assist from Jonathan Toews. Toews centered the puck from behind the Flames net to a wide open Kane in front.

The Hawks had back-to-back power plays for a chance at the lead, but produced little in the way of good scoring chances. The visitors will start the third period with a man-advantage after Bryan Bickell was clipped with just seconds left in the middle period.

Mikael Backlund got the Flames goal back in the first period. The Hawks are being outshot 21-14, but put 11 on net in the second.
