SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Florida Panthers 1-0 after the first period at bank Atlantic Center.

The Hawks got on the board early when Sean O’Donnell dumped a puck into the offensive zone where Andrew Brunette grabbed it off the stick of a Panthers’ defenseman. He slid the puck to the middle where a falling Jonathan Toews got his stick on it to score.

Corey Crawford was solid in net for the Hawks stopping 15 shots including several blasts from close range. He stopped Scottie Upshall twice and Marcel Goc once on three of the better looks for Florida.

The Hawks played a little too much in their own end but own a lead after 20 minutes. The Hawks had just six shots on net.
