CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Anaheim Ducks 1-0 after the first period at the United Center.

Neither team had many good scoring chances, but the Hawks broke through thanks to a goal from their fourth line. Jamal Mayers, Andrew Brunette and John Scott all touched the puck before Mayers stuffed one past goalie Jonas Hiller. It was Mayers’ first tally since Oct. 22 and Scott’s first point of the season as well as just his fourth career helper.

The Hawks played well enough in their own zone limiting the Ducks to minimal good looks. Each team had a power play chance, the Hawks will begin the second period with 46 seconds of man-advantage time.
