CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings are tied 2-2 after two periods at the United Center.

Both teams scored goals in the second as the Wings took their second lead of the game only to give it back. Todd Bertuzzi tipped home a Mike Commodore shot early in the period while the Hawks third line was caught scrambling in its own zone. But Marian Hossa tied the game a couple minutes later with a dazzling move around the Wings zone eventually slapping home the puck past Jimmy Howard.K;0L

Hossa almost scored again but Nik Lidstrom blocked the shot with an empty net behind him. The Red Wings hit a post late in the period nearly retaking the lead again.

Jonathan Toews scored on a penalty shot in the first for the Hawks other tally while Justin Abdelkader knocked in a rebound for the Wings first goal.

The play on the ice and atmosphere in the stands has had a playoff feel in a very even contest through 40 minutes.
