CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 after two periods at the United Center.

The Hawks took control of the game after an early Jason Pominville power-play goal tied it at 2-2.

Marian Hossa gave the lead back to the Hawks when Duncan Keith found him on a counter play then Jimmy Hayes went to the net where Andrew Brunette slid a cross-ice pass to him for his fourth goal of the season.

The Hawks almost had a fifth tally when Andrew Shaw caught a puck out of mid-air and dropped it to his stick and over to Marcus Kruger who put it in the net. Shaw was called for a hand pass and the play was determined not to be reviewable.
