Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery was named third star in the NHL for the week ending on Sunday, the league announced Monday.

Emery went 3-0-0 with a 1.13 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage, winning one game in relief and two as a starter.

He allowed one goal in 40 minutes in a 5-4 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 29. He stopped 25 shots in a 2-1 win at the Ottawa Senators March 2 and made 23 saves in a 2-1 victory at the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.

Emery was signed as a free agent after coming to Blackhawks camp on a tryout. He has a 14-8-2 record with a 2.58 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 28 appearances.
