CHICAGO -- While the front office works on the present, the Chicago Blackhawks will have their future on display this week when they hold their annual Prospects Camp at Johnny’s IceHouse West (2550 West Madison).
The camp will feature 52 players and be highlighted by this year’s draft class, including highly touted first-round pick Teuvo Teravainen, Chris Calnan (79th overall and the nephew of former Hawks star Jeremy Roenick) and Bartlett native Vincent Hinostroza (169th overall). Seventh-round picks Matt Tomkins and Brandon Whitney, both goalies, will also be attending. Draft picks from previous years will be on hand as well, including Mark McNeill (first round, 2011), Kevin Hayes (first round, 2010) and Brandon Saad (second round, 2011).
Camp opens with practices on Monday (12:30-3:00 p.m.) and Tuesday (10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.) followed by three days of scrimmages. All sessions are open to the public.
