The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Jimmy Hayes from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Hayes, 23, had eight goals and nine assists in 37 games with the IceHogs this season. He played in 31 regular-season games and two playoff games and recorded nine points with the Blackhawks last season. He was a second-round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008 and was acquired by the Blackhawks in 2010 in exchange for the 43rd overall selection in the 2010 draft.

Hayes is the eighth player the Blackhawks have recalled from Rockford this week. He will join former IceHogs teammates Brandon Bollig, Marcus Kruger, Nick Leddy, Brandon Pirri, Brandon Saad, Andrew Shaw and Ryan Stanton in Chicago.
