CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will miss his third consecutive game with an upper-body injury, but he did skate prior to the team's morning practice on Tuesday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said.

“Corey skated prior to practice, did well, so we'll get him out there again tomorrow,” Quenneville said. “Hopefully, he keeps progressing here.”

Quenneville said last week he was unsure if the “defining blow” to Crawford occurred when he collided with Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan during their game on Feb. 12 or during practice on Feb. 14. Crawford last practiced with the team on Feb. 14.

Crawford is 7-0-3 with a 1.65 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage this season.

Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery will start Tuesday for the third consecutive game. Emery is 5-0-0 with a 2.17 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.

“Ray has played nicely to date,” Quenneville said. “Nothing better than that performance in Calgary (where he had 45 saves.) You wait for that chance. He's proven he's a No. 1 goalie in our league, and he's done a very good job throughout his career. He's capable of getting in the net and playing well. But no matter who is in the net this year, gives us a chance game in, game out. Goaltending has been important to the team.”
