CHICAGO -- Here’s a quick look at the Anaheim Ducks' 2-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center on Friday.

How it happened: Ducks defenseman Sheldon Souray broke a 1-1 tie with a long slapshot with 2:08 left in the third period. Ducks forward Corey Perry gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead by beating Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery from the right circle in the second period. Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane evened the game with a power-play goal early in the third period. Emery suffered his first loss of the season and fell to 12-1-0. He allowed both goals and made 22 saves. Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller had 25 saves. Kane extended his point streak to eight games. It’s his second eight-game point streak of the season.

Player of the game: The Ducks broke the Blackhawks’ hearts in the third period for the third consecutive game, and this time it was Souray who was responsible for it.

What it means: The Ducks swept their three-game series with the Blackhawks, winning twice in regulation and once in a shootout. The Ducks pulled within three points of the Blackhawks in the Western Conference standings. The Blackhawks are 25-5-3 with 53 points, and the Ducks are 23-7-4 with 50 points. The Ducks also snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. The Blackhawks fell to 14-3-3 in one-goal games, and the Ducks improved to 12-1-4 in one-goal games.

What’s next: The Blackhawks are back on the road after a three-game homestand. The Blackhawks face the Detroit Red Wings at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Blackhawks defeated the Red Wings 2-1 in a shootout in a memorable game in Detroit on March 3.
