CHICAGO – Chicago Blackhawks forward Dave Bolland and goaltender Ray Emery are doubtful for Game 5 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said on Wednesday.
Both players returned to practicing with the team on Monday, but did not play in Game 4 on Tuesday. The Blackhawks did not practice Wednesday, but held media availability for Quenneville and select players at the United Center.
“Nobody skated today, but they’re both fine,” Quenneville said of Bolland and Emery. “I’m going to say [they’re] doubtful for [Thursday.]”
Bolland has missed seven consecutive games due to a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury against the Vancouver Canucks on April 22. He had seven goals and seven assists in 35 regular-season games this season.
Emery has missed six consecutive games due to a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury against the Edmonton Oilers on April 24. He was 17-1-0 with a 1.94 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage during the regular season.
Goaltender Henrik Karlsson has backed up Crawford in the series’ first four games.
