CHICAGO – Chicago Blackhawks forward Brad Mills is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and is unlikely to play against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Thursday.

Mills did not practice Thursday. Quenneville said Mills would be revaluated on Friday but was unlikely to travel to Winnipeg for Saturday's game.

Mills was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Oct. 25. He has no points, a minus-1 rating and averaged 10:20 of ice time in three games with the Blackhawks.

“I thought he did a good job there,” Quenneville said of Mills playing on the fourth line. “I thought that line was effective and productive as far as what their role and job description was. They gave us energy, faceoffs. He plays physical and gives us energy.”

Ben Smith replaced Mills as the right winger on the fourth line in practice Thursday. Smith has one goal and one assist in six games this season.
