CLEVELAND -- Let's take a quick look at how the Chicago Bulls earned a blowout win, 115-86, over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
How it happened: Carlos Boozer had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists as the Bulls cruised to their second win of the year. Rip Hamilton added 19 points, while Nate Robinson poured in 16 off the bench. This was a dominating performance from the Bulls and one even the stubborn Tom Thibodeau will be happy about.
What it means: This was like watching a varsity team beat up on its junior varsity counterpart. The Bulls crushed the Cavs, proving that solid defense and offensive aggression and precision can crush an opponent's spirit. Thibodeau's team pushed the ball and played hard throughout the night. The beauty for Thibodeau is that while his team is still making some mistakes here and there while getting used to playing with one another, they still looked like they were on an entirely different level compared to the Cavs. Thibodeau has clearly set a tone that his team seems to be intent on following this season.
Stat of the night: The Bulls shot 64 percent from the field.
Hits: Not only was Robinson 7-for-9 from the field, he also dished out 12 assists and had five rebounds. Robinson was pressed into action with Kirk Hinrich dealing with foul trouble.
Misses: Not a lot to complain about for the Bulls in this one. The Bulls did have 17 turnovers, something that Thibodeau will surely focus on.
What's next: The Bulls take on the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday night at the United Center. They'll be looking for their third win in a row.
