CHICAGO -- Let's take a quick look at how the Chicago Bulls earned a 93-88 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night at the United Center.

How it happened: Luol Deng led the Bulls with 25 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Joakim Noah almost had a triple-double, scoring 12 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Carlos Boozer added 12 points and 12 rebounds in a game that looked a lot like the games these two teams played during their playoff series last spring.

What it means: The Bulls have to be pleased with their effort in this one because they grinded the game out. Deng and Noah led the way as usual, but they got nice contributions from Boozer, Rip Hamilton and Taj Gibson as well. Tom Thibodeau's group played solid defense throughout most of the night and made big plays when they needed them. This is the type of game the Bulls used to win last season and the one that will surely make Thibodeau happy because of his players' grit.

Hits: Gibson is starting to look like his old self again. He had 11 points and eight rebounds, making several nice hustle plays. Hamilton sprained his left foot in the third quarter and had to be carried off the floor by teammates Deng and Kirk Hinrich. He returned to the game late in the fourth quarter to knock down three crucial free throws.

Misses: Hinrich continues to struggle with his shot. He was just 2-for-6 from the field.

Stat of the night: The Bulls out-rebounded the Sixers 50-37.

What's next: The Bulls take on the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
