How it happened: Carlos Boozer dominated this game in the first half, scoring 25 of his season-high 36 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and collecting three assists as the Bulls picked up their second win in a row. Luol Deng finished with 19 points, including the game winner with 3.3 seconds left in overtime, to go along with seven assists and four rebounds, while Joakim Noah had 16 points and 14 rebounds.
What it means: The Bulls almost gave up a 19-point lead but held on late as Deng came to the rescue. Boozer dominated early, but it was Deng who closed things down late by knocking down the type of shot that Derrick Rose usually hits. Tom Thibodeau is going to find plenty to complain about from this game, but he has to be pleased with the way the Bulls kept fighting at the end and found a way to win. Deng has taken on an even bigger leadership role for this team, on and off the floor, without Rose.
Hits: Rip Hamilton scored 15 points and had five assists in 18 minutes of play.
Stat of the night: The Bulls outscored the Raptors 54-36 in the paint.
What's next: The Bulls face off against the Boston Celtics on Friday night at TD Garden.
