INDIANAPOLIS -- Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah is confident his game will come around after missing most of the preseason because of a groin injury.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said recently that Noah's conditioning is a "work in progress," but the All-Star center believes he will bounce back soon.

"I feel pretty good," Noah said. "I'm grinding every day. That's all I can do. I'm working hard every day trying to get better, and I'll be ready for [Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers]. I'm working every day. I missed preseason. I missed a lot of time, but I'm working every day to get better. I know I can play better and I just want to win [Wednesday]. I know [Wednesday's] a big game -- [I'll] help the team as much as I can."

Noah understands where Thibodeau's frustration regarding his game is coming from. He knows that no player should be expected to be ready to go after only playing 20 minutes in the preseason as Noah did over the last month.

"There's nothing that replicates playing in an NBA game," Noah said. "The treadmill, running on the sideline, the bike, all those things are great for conditioning but there's nothing that replicates that contact and playing in an NBA game. So we're in it. We're in the fire right now. We've got a big game [Wednesday] against a very good team and we're excited."

Noah is confident that he and his teammates will be back on track shortly. Noah is just 7-for-22 from the field on the season.

"I think I can do better," he said. "I can do better. I will do better so just keep working every day and it's going to come back fast."
