AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Let's take a quick look at how the Chicago Bulls earned a 99-79 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

How it happened: Luol Deng had his best game of the season -- scoring 27 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists as the Bulls snapped a four-game losing streak. Taj Gibson had a big game off the bench scoring a career-high 23 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons with 25 points off the bench.

What it means: It sure looked as if Deng wanted to prove a point in this one. On the day his name popped up in a potential deal to the Cleveland Cavaliers, as reported by ESPN's Chris Broussard, Deng produced an even better effort than usual. The Bulls relied on him offensively and he was solid in every facet of the game. Tom Thibodeau said before this one that he wasn't concerned about the way Deng would handle the trade speculation -- he was right.

Like Deng, the Bulls have too much pride -- as a group -- to continue struggling as they have. They will continue to beat bad teams during the year if the front office decides to keep this core intact.

Hits: Making the second start of his young career, Tony Snell had his best game as a pro. The rookie scored 13 points and had much more confidence shooting the ball.

Misses: Carlos Boozer was 3-for-11 from the field and scored just six points.

Stat of the night: The Bulls shot 53.2 percent from the field.

What's next: The Bulls have a day off for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Their next game is Saturday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
