MIAMI -- Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler will not play Sunday afternoon against the Miami Heat because of sore ribs. Butler left Friday night's win over the Denver Nuggets after a collision late in the first quarter and never returned to the game.
"I feel better, " Butler said before Sunday's game, as he sat in front of his locker with ice wrapped around his ribs. "A little pain, a little tough to breath. So I can't in this one."
Butler said he is day to day and hopes to be back on the floor on Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks. He reiterated that there is not break, just a bruise.
"I just got to get comfortable moving," he said. "Just breathing normal again ... it's just a bruise, no breaks. No nothing like that, but it damn sure hurts."
