DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich said he didn't intend to make contact with a referee during Friday's loss to the Miami Heat, and he is frustrated that the incident led to a one-game suspension.

Speaking publicly for the first time since learning he would be suspended for Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Hinrich on Sunday said he is disappointed.

"Any time you have to miss time when you're healthy, it's frustrating," Hinrich said. "I was hoping [a suspension] that wasn't going to be the case, but there's nothing really I can do about it now."
