Rose: My confidence was high
May, 4, 2011
Derrick Rose's tweaked left ankle was fine, and so was his confidence as he scored 25 points and dealt 10 assists to lead the Bulls to an 86-73 win over the Atlanta Hawks to even the series at 1-1.
"My confidence was real high and the rest of my teammates came out and played wonderful," Rose said on TNT after the game. "Everybody played a good game."
After Joe Johnson scored 34 to lead Atlanta to a Game 1 win, the Bulls held Johnson to 16 in Game 2.
"We made sure we were in front of him," Rose said. "He's a great player, and we had to make sure we contested all his shots, rebound the ball and run."
As far as his ankle, Rose, who was 10-of-27 from the field, said: "I'm good. I just missed some shots I normally make."
The series shifts to Atlanta for the next two games with Game 3 on Friday.
"We have to come out and be aggressive the whole game like we did tonight, make sure we put a lot of pressure on them and play team basketball," Rose said.
