Offensive lineman Nick Martin, rated as the No. 39 tackle by ESPN recruiting, has turned his back on Kentucky and given his verbal commitment to play for Notre Dame, according to Blue and Gold Illustrated. The younger brother of Irish left tackle Zack Martin is the third offensive lineman what now stands as a 20-player haul for 2011.
Spots are quickly being occupied as blue chip defensive ends Aaron Lynch and Ishaq Williams are in a holding pattern. Martin, a 6-foot-5, 260-pounder out of Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, also drew considerable interest from Michigan, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA and Iowa.
