The Chicago Fire resume Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play with a third-round match on June 28. The location and Chicago's opponent have yet to be determined.

U.S. Soccer announced its possible third-round pairings Wednesday. The Fire will either host the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Pro at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, or they will travel to Rochester, N.Y., to face the USL Pro's Rochester Rhinos at 6:35 p.m. CT on June 28 at Sahlen's Stadium.

Rochester faces Harrisburg City in a second-round Open Cup match on June 21 at Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg, Pa. A Harrisburg City win would bring the Open Cup to Toyota Park the following week.

The Fire advanced to their 14th straight Open Cup. They defeated the Colorado Rapids, 2-1, on March 30 in their first play-in match, then defeated the San Jose Earthquakes on May 24 in a shootout. Chicago overcame a 2-0 halftime deficit against San Jose to tie the match in regulation, then topped the Quakes, 5-4, in the shootout.
