Bengals announce open practice dates

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals fans hoping to watch a few practices this training camp have 16 chances to do so starting July 24, when the players take the field for the first time since organized team activities concluded about three weeks ago.

The team announced Wednesday a series of practices between July 24-Aug. 14 that are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, all practices will take place at the practice fields adjacent to Paul Brown Stadium. This is the third straight year the Bengals have held training camp in Cincinnati after moving from Georgetown, Kentucky, in 2012.

Wednesday's announcement was a clear sign the Bengals won't be partnering with the Chiefs for a set of coordinated training camp practices in Kansas City ahead of the preseason opener there Aug. 7. The Bengals will be spending that Monday and Tuesday in open practices in Cincinnati before traveling Wednesday for the Thursday night game.

The following week the New York Jets come to town. It had been rumored the teams were considering partnering for practices that week.

Along with the practices on the fields outside the stadium, the Bengals will host two workouts inside the building on a pair of "Family Day" events, Aug. 2 and Aug. 9. The workouts those days will feature enhanced activities for children, the team said.

The practice fields have seating for 1,250, along with additional room to stand on the sidelines. Fans are permitted to bring soft-sided coolers, unopened water bottles and food. Concessions are available, too.

Groups of players will be made available for autographs for 15 minutes after each practice. At the end of the "Family Day" practices, the full roster will sign autographs.
