Bill Kuharich, the former Saints general manager, has joined the Browns and is with the team at the scouting combine. Kuharich will be a consultant with the Browns, helping new (and first-time) GM Ray Farmer, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Farmer confirmed Kuharich's status.
"Bill does have a relationship with the Cleveland Browns," Farmer said. "That relationship was, I’ll say, somewhat forged while Mike [Lombardi] and Joe [Banner] were both [with the team]. Bill’s a consultant. He’ll be working with me directly on several aspects of what I’m going to be tasked to do."
Kuharich still lives in Kansas City so he will do work for the Browns both there and in Cleveland. He is widely respected for his work in several front office jobs with the Saints. He also worked in Kansas City from 2000-08, where he met Farmer. His experienced voice will be welcome with the Browns.
Lombardi, meanwhile, was officially announced as a member of the New England Patriots. He joins Bill Belichick as an assistant to the coaching staff.
