"It's been really hard to deal with," Gordon said during his day at ESPN. Gordon brought to light the human side of all the change. He said players walk "on our tippy toes looking over (their) shoulder because ... the coach is going, the players are going, you don’t know who’s next, anybody is up for grabs at this point."
This offseason, the Browns fired coach Rob Chudzinski, after which Gordon said he never dreamt that could happen. They also parted ways with CEO Joe Banner and General Manager Mike Lombardi, hired Mike Pettine to coach and promoted Ray Farmer to GM. Gordon also said goodbye to teammates T.J. Ward and D'Qwell Jackson, who went to Denver and Indianapolis, respectively.
"The business side of it is so cut-throat, and you finally realizing as a young player," he said. "A lot of these guys thought you could get comfortable here and have a relationship, and you really can’t. You really don’t want to. You get to meet these guys’ families and then they’re texting you, and they have to uproot their lives and move on."
