A near-win in New England helped the Cleveland Browns in the eyes of the ESPN Power Rankings voters, as the Browns moved from 27th to 25th.
Which is a step for a team that has lost four in a row and seven of eight.
ESPN.com NFL writer Kevin Seifert had the Browns the highest, at 20th.
If the Browns hope to finish the season out of the 20s for the first time since 2007, they have some work to do. Their final home game is Sunday against the Bears, followed by games on the road against the Jets and Steelers.
They way the Browns played for 58 minutes against New England would indicate they have a chance to avoid their first 10-loss season since ’07. The way they finished against Jacksonville and the Patriots would indicate they don’t.
