No, The Register-Guard does not yet have an Oregon coaching hire to write about yet, but the paper does have this to report about the Ducks being close to scheduling a game against defending national champion Duke:
The game would be played at the Rose Garden in Portland, and the tentative date is Nov. 27, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That wouldn’t conflict with football because Oregon’s game for that weekend against Arizona at Autzen Stadium is scheduled for Friday.

Duke’s primary motivation for playing the game is to bring Kyle Singler to his home region for a game. That’s the usual promise made during recruiting to prospective Duke players, and Singler, a senior next season, has never played in Oregon as a Blue Devil. Singler announced earlier this week that he would return for his senior season rather than declare for the NBA draft, though he was expected to be a first-round selection.

The game also will provide a matchup of the Singler brothers, with E.J. about to become a sophomore for the Ducks. Duke and Oregon have never played in men’s basketball.

This would also mean a meeting of the minds between Mike Krzyzewski and, um, who knows?

And in case you were wondering, yes, it looks as if E.J. Singler will be one Oregon Duck who won't transfer and will stick around with the new coach, whoever he might be. But the lengthy search does make Singler's father scratch his head.
Ed Singler said he was convinced Oregon “will find the right person. ... I’m confident they understand this is an important hire.”

That said, however, Ed Singler added that “from the periphery, this process has made you pause a little bit and wonder what’s going on.”
