Kentucky officially announced the signings of Terrence Jones and Eloy Vargas Friday, and while we already knew Jones was signing a financial agreement, the school said Vargas inked one as well.

Along with Brandon Knight, that makes three in John Calipari's No. 1 recruiting class who have decided against signing binding national letters of intent. Signing only a financial aid agreement gives the player the option of backing out to attend another school without penalty.

That gives the players a good measure of protection if, for example, there was a coaching change for whatever reason.

Vargas, a junior college transfer, was also considering Arizona and Seattle but decided to return to the SEC. He played in nine games for Florida as a freshman.

"Eloy is a long, big forward who is skilled both offensively and defensively," Calipari said in a statement. "He immediately adds a shot-blocking presence and a versatile front-court player to our team next season."
