David and Travis Wear are transferring to UCLA. North Carolina coach Roy Williams issued a statement saying he was caught by "complete surprise," which makes it seem as if the twins left under the cover of night.
Their parents have spoken out, leaving open the question as to exactly why they left.
And in an interview with the Orange County Register, the twins don't say much about it. Here's what David Wear had to say about the Tar Heels:
"I just felt like (North Carolina) wasn't the right situation. I really don't want to comment much on that. That’s the past. I want to move forward. I have no regrets."
"It was a family decision. I'm extremely excited. It's a great opportunity to play in front of the people who’ve supported you your whole career. UCLA was a strong front-runner (upon deciding to transfer)."
