Chicago State fired Benjy Taylor coming off a 9-23 season on April 19 and is still looking to fill its coaching vacancy, making Oregon's hiring of Dana Altman look like a rush job. John Isner and Nicolas Mahut might be thinking, "What's taking so long?"

At last check, Chicago State athletic director Sudie Davis told ESPN Chicago last week that the school could make a decision by as early as Friday, which came and went without white smoke emerging.

"We think getting the right coach is the right thing instead of chasing a deadline," Davis said.

OK, but at some point the players should be able to go home for the summer knowing who their next coach is, right?

Chicago State, which competes in the Great West Conference, could have just gone ahead and given acting coach Matthew Muhammad, but instead apparently went through its search at snail's pace.

Come on, Cougars. The completion of this graphic depends on it.
