Wooden's Pyramid of Success, tribute-style

There have been many tributes to former UCLA coach John Wooden since the coach's death on June 4, the latest of which is the news that the John R. Wooden Classic will carry on in the coach's name in the future. (To dig into some of our own tributes, check out our John Wooden page here.)

The fine folks at College Chalktalk have added their own tribute to the mix, and it's a great idea. The site got UCLA staff, former players and renowned coaches from around college basketball and assigned each of them a component of Wooden's famed Pyramid of Success. There are 15 blocks in the pyramid, and coaches like Steve Lavin, Phil Martelli, Tubby Smith, Bo Ryan, Rick Barnes, Tom Izzo and Ben Howland, along with players like Bobby Hurley and Kevin Love, each discuss one component of the pyramid each day for the next three weeks.

It's a fitting tribute, for one. But it's also interesting hoops reading, and if you're reading this blog, I have a feeling you enjoy yourself some interesting hoops reading. (Not that the blog always qualifies. But we sure do try!) So head over there and check it out.
