If you would have told me I'd be spending a portion of my Thursday afternoon writing about Mississippi State forward Kodi Augustus, I probably would have doubted you. If you would have told me I'd be writing about Augustus because of his appearance on an episode of MTV's once-great, now-horrific reality TV show "The Real World," I would have slapped you.

Instead, here we are, and I have no one to slap but myself.

Yes, Wednesday night's episode of "The Real World"featured an appearance from the 6-foot-8 Bulldogs big man. Why? On the show, Augustus is in an "open relationship" with a cast member. Her name is Jemmye. I haven't seen the show, and thus have no idea how pronounce this name. Is it like "Gemma?" Or "Jem-e-ya?" Or "Jemm-yay?" Or ... nevermind. (Update: I've been informed by stalwart reality fans that the name is actually pronounced "Jimmy." I did not see that one coming.) The point is that Jemm-yay has found love on the show in the form of fellow cast member Ryan Knight. Ryan goes by his last name. Jemm-yay and Knight: Is it just me, or does that sound dangerously close to a "Jersey Shore" cast?

ANYWAY, on the episode, Jemmye goes to visit Augustus after a Mississippi State game, the two spend approximately 30 seconds together, Knight remarks that the interaction is "mad awkward," and then everybody goes back to being Division I athletes/reality TV stars/awesomely named people. And ... scene.

Jeff Eisenberg did the yeoman's work of actually watching the show, and he has the screencaps and detailed breakdown such a moment deserves. As for me, I'm going to go back to never thinking about "The Real World" again. J-Woww and The Situation are much more fun, anyway.
