If you look at ESPNU's latest 2011 recruiting class rankings, you see no shortage of the usual suspects. You see Kentucky at the top, with North Carolina, Arizona, Syracuse, Louisville, Texas, Duke and Michigan State in tow. Standard stuff, really. But if you scan a little further, you see a few programs you might not expect (Rutgers and St. John's among them, but that should be no surprise by now).

Chief among them? Arkansas.

The Razorbacks have the No. 12-ranked 2011 recruiting class, according to ESPN's recruiting experts. Actually, correction: Arkansas had the No. 12-ranked recruiting class. That distinction was bestowed before four-star shooting guard and No. 46-ranked overall player Ky Madden committed to the Razorbacks on Wednesday. That gives Arkansas its fourth ESPNU 100 player, adding him to the ranks of shooting guard B.J. Young, small forward Aaron Ross, and center Hunter Mickelson.

Those three were the reason for Arkansas' No. 12 overall class ranking. One has the feeling that ranking might jump again in the next few months.

In the meantime, if the fire-this-bum birds were starting to form around Arkansas coach John Pelphrey, they should probably plan an extended vacation. Pelphrey has struggled in the past two of his three seasons at Arkansas; the Razobacks won 14 games in each season. It was fair to wonder if Pelphrey was ever going to be able to replicate the recruiting success he had under Billy Donovan at Florida. His 2011 class ought to settle those questions.
